Past work

Edmontonians have recognized the need for enhanced services and supports for mental
health for many years now.

We previously developed and implemented the Community Mental Health Action Plan (CMHAP) and Living Hope: Edmonton’s Suicide Prevention Plan (LH). Both of these initiatives recognized the value of lived experience to provide insights for improving outcomes and in doing so brought systems, supports, and broader community together to bring solutions to life and learn from the results.

As our understanding and successes grew, it became clear a more empowered and expansive structure for change was required to ensure every member of every community in Edmonton has the support they need to thrive.

The Strategy for Community Mental Health is the evolution of CMHAP and LH, and was developed with extensive community and lived experience consultation and the commitments of our service providers.
